June saw the introduction of Rockport's first ever Internationalism Day, a celebration of the many nationalities and cultures represented in our school.
Pupils across R5-R11 took part in the event, which was especially significant as it marked the first whole-school initiative developed and organised by the Student Council. The idea came from a conversation during one of their regular meetings last year about how to bring the Round Square Ideals to life within the school.
Over the past year, our students worked steadily behind the scenes to shape the event, encourage participation from their peers, and plan the afternoon. The result was more than 15 stalls run by students, each highlighting a different nationality through food, music, games, and cultural activities.
It was great to see pupils from right across R5 to R14 engaging with the stalls and learning more about each other’s backgrounds. We are so proud of the effort the students put into making the day a success, and we are already thinking about how to build on it for next year.
