On March 24th, we were delighted to welcome representatives from a range of leading businesses and further education institutions to our Rockport Business Breakfast.
This event is a key fixture in our Sixth Form calendar, designed to give students opportunities to engage directly with professionals from industry. Through informal networking and conversation, our students were able to discuss their aspirations beyond Sixth Form, gain valuable insights into different career pathways, and further develop the communication skills that are so essential when preparing for interviews, apprenticeships, and university applications.
We were proud to host guests from Almac, the University of Ulster, Love Belfast, Danske Bank, John Minnis, and The Foot Clinic NI. Their willingness to share experiences, advice, and perspectives provided our students with a richer understanding of the diverse opportunities available following the completion of A Levels.
This year’s Business Breakfast was particularly special, as it also marked a significant milestone for Rockport School - celebrating 10 years of A Level results. Over the past decade, our students have consistently outperformed both UK and Northern Ireland averages at the highest grades, a testament to their hard work and the dedication of our staff. During this time, our Sixth Form has grown substantially, not only in student numbers but also in the breadth of subjects and opportunities we are able to offer.
Events like the Business Breakfast play a vital role in bridging the gap between education and the world of work, ensuring our students are not only academically prepared but also confident and informed when making choices regarding their next steps.
We are extremely grateful to all of our guests for giving their time, and for contributing so positively to the experience. Their support helps make this event so meaningful for our students.
