Following the outstanding success of our A Level students last week, we are delighted to announce another excellent set of GCSE results for our Year 12 students at Rockport School.
As a non-selective school, we are particularly proud that 81.2% of all grades achieved were at A*–C (9–4) or equivalent, while an outstanding 30.8% were awarded at the top grades of A*–A (9–7).
These results reflect the hard work, commitment and determination of our students, alongside the dedication of our teaching staff.
Outstanding individual achievements
Special congratulations must go to our two highest-performing students, who between them achieved a remarkable 13 A* grades and 5 A grades:
Beth McCleery – an outstanding 7 A*s and 2 As
Timofei Mankov – an exceptional 6 A*s and 3 As
We are immensely proud of both students and congratulate them on these fantastic achievements.
Exceptional value-added performance
Of particular note is the value-added profile demonstrated by this cohort. Based on their CAT (Cognitive Abilities Test) results, students were predicted to achieve an A*–C pass rate of 78.4%. In reality, they exceeded this prediction, achieving an impressive 81.2%.
The performance at the very top end is even more remarkable. CAT predictions indicated that 5.9% of grades would be awarded at A*–A. Our students more than quintupled that prediction, with 30.8% of all grades achieved at A*–A.
These results are a wonderful testament to the progress our students have made during their time at Rockport. They demonstrate not only their academic ability, but also the impact of the encouragement, support and high expectations provided by our staff.
We are incredibly proud of our students and their achievements this summer. We wish them every success as they begin the next chapter of their education and embark on their A Level journey in Sixth Form.
Congratulations to the entire Rockport community on another outstanding set of results.
