April saw the Tucker Hall transformed into a world of music, energy, and sheer talent as the Upper Juniors Junior Drama Society (JDS) took to the stage to perform the vibrant and feel-good musical Loserville!
Over two unforgettable evenings, the hall rang with laughter, applause, and the unmistakable buzz of something truly special. Led by the talented R7 class in the leading roles, the production showcased the enthusiasm and dedication of every child involved.
From catchy songs to fast-paced choreography and heartfelt performances, the young cast brought their characters to life with impressive confidence and charm. Whether playing a quirky classmate, a tech-loving teen, or a villainous bully, each performer added their own sparkle to the show. Their teamwork and joy on stage reminded everyone in the audience just how powerful school theatre can be.
Adding to the magic of Loserville! was the extraordinary fact that the musical itself was written by one of our very own school parents. Their incredible creativity and generosity in not only writing the show but also taking on the role of Director of Music made the production all the more unique and personal. Their original score and lively direction helped shape a show that was both polished and full of heart, perfectly suited to our young performers.
Behind the scenes, the production was a true team effort. Staff from across the school came together to support the children in every aspect — from staging and lighting to costume design, set construction, and rehearsal support. Their tireless dedication ensured that the show ran smoothly and that each child felt confident and prepared. Special thanks must go to every member of staff who gave their time, energy, and encouragement to make Loserville! such a triumph.
The Tucker Hall itself came alive during the performances, filled with colourful lights, infectious music, and a crowd of proud families, friends, and teachers. The atmosphere was electric, with standing ovations and smiling faces all around. It was clear that this was more than just a school play — it was a celebration of creativity, collaboration, and the joy of performance.
Most importantly, the children themselves shone. Their hard work over weeks of rehearsals paid off in every scene, every song, and every smile. They reminded us all of what can be achieved when young people are given the chance to express themselves and take centre stage. Loserville! was not just a show — it was an experience that will live long in the memory of everyone who took part and everyone who watched. A huge well done to the Upper Juniors, especially the fantastic R7 leads, and an enormous thank you to our amazing parent writer and musical director Elliot Davis, as well as the dedicated staff who helped bring the production to life. We couldn’t be prouder. Bravo, everyone!
