Cricket
Cricket is played during the Summer Term at Rockport. Pupils from R4 and R5 are introduced to 'mini cricket' and from R6 upwards pupils will play both 'mini' and 'hardball' cricket.
The senior pupils have an opportunity to play both at Rockport and also at Holywood Cricket Club, when the opposition will include schoolboys from different schools in the region.
This has the advantage of giving the more gifted of our pupils an opportunity to experience a wider range of matches and opponents. The association with Holywood Cricket Club has been of mutual benefit. The Ground Curator for the international match venue at Stormont has also prepared the wicket at Rockport and this has given us an ideal surface on which to train and play matches.
