There is great enthusiasm for clubs and the parents of younger children must be advised not to allow their children to stay late on too many evenings in the week.
There can be quite a change from Year 7 to Year 8, as some Rockport pupils transfer after 11+ and many new pupils begin Rockport after 11+. The two years following 11+ allow opportunities for pupils to be 'big fish' in the 'small pond' and to have opportunities for responsibility.
