Senior school
Entry from outside is by interview and assessment with core subject staff and consideration of past reports.
The compulsory school day for Senior School is until 3.30p.m. with the option of staying until 5.30p.m. to complete prep or to participate in clubs on offer.
During the course of Year 10, pupils are given a taster for subjects they will not have studied before, e.g. Media Studies, so that informed choice of GCSE subjects can be made. Meetings are held with pupils and with parents to ensure the most appropriate subject options are being made available to each year group. Depending on ability, advice is given concerning modular and linear GCSE courses.
When a teenager joins Senior School, he/she is able to choose a member of staff as a tutor. Each month when form orders are produced, the tutor and tutee sit down to discuss the results and to target areas for improvement.
