Art
The Art Department at Rockport is situated on the first floor of the new Centenary Arts Centre and includes an exhibition space in the Webb-Russell studio as well as a craft and sculpture area in the Williams room.
This spacious facility has excellent light and affords wonderful and quite stimulating views across the lawns towards the lough.
Pupils from R6 to R12 undertake classes as part of their timetabled study, whilst pupils from lower classes will attend during their creative club sessions.
With small class sizes (average ten pupils) it is possible to encourage students to develop an understanding of a wide range of skills and techniques in both art and craft, and to concentrate on individual development.
GCSE art is undertaken by year 12 pupils and currently the exhibition work includes examples of Drawing, Painting, Printing,
Sculpture, Photography, Collage, Weaving and Pottery.
