Cookery
On one evening per week from 6.15-7.00pm there is a cookery club, which occurs in both the Winter and Spring Term. This is for pupils from R4-R7 as they do not have the opportunity to do this subject in their Key Stage. The club is mostly aimed at boarders with the remaining spaces being filled up by day pupils.
The club is over-subscribed due to it's popularity and usually has a waiting list.
It gives the pupils first-hand experience of what life is like in the kitchen. They get to participate in making sweet and savoury dishes within the 45 minutes allocated to their club. This year the club is all boys, which is surprising so maybe a few budding Jamie Olivers' of the future!
