The boarding accommodation is safe, comfortable and warm and all dormitories have a common room leading off them, where boarders can relax before going to bed.
Children board for various reasons – some have parents who live too far away to commute daily, many are boarders by choice and others board in order to prepare themselves for boarding in Senior School.
Boarding at Rockport is all about the school helping and working with the parents to bring up their children. Boarders have a range of activities that few families can offer and they learn independence and tolerance of others.
Pupils also have the opportunity to join in evening clubs run by the staff. These range from sports and cookery to line dancing and crafts. However the highlight of the week is the Thursday boarders' trip out to go swimming, to the cinema, ice skating or ten-pin bowling.
