Boarding
Boarding has always been at the heart of Rockport and this is still the case although the nature of boarding has changed considerably. It is available to both boys and girls from Year 4 to Year 12.
The boarding staff is caring and yet there is a degree of discipline. The daily routine provides a comforting structure for those who are away from home for the first time. Children are woken at 7.25am and fed with a hearty breakfast at 8am. A different breakfast menu is offered each morning. After breakfast the children make their final preparations to get ready for the school day. After school at 5.30 pm pupils get their tea, join in with evening clubs and then relax and wind down with their friends over supper in the evenings. Boarding staff are available each evening to help younger boarders with spellings and tables homework and all boarders playing musical instruments have supervised practice time.
