History
The school was founded in 1906 by Geoffrey Bing with just four boys. His vision was rewarded as the school has gone from strength to strength with just under 200 boys and girls from Playgroup through to GCSE. Old boys still remember Mr Bing with great affection and tell of the beach walks and bedtime stories they shared with him and his wife. In those early days Rockport was a full boarding school for boys only. Mr Bing remained as Headmaster until 1945.
Eric Tucker began his 29 year headship in 1945. Towards the end of his tenure, the school became a charitable trust and was run by a board of governors. Girls were introduced to the school, as were weekly boarders and day pupils.
From 1974 until 1986, the school was run by John Agg Large.
